Brief History: Born the son of the head of house Dyelin of Andor, Anshar wanted for nothing. If he wanted to go hunting, his father brought out a Composite bow, the best stallion, and ten retainers to go with him. Should Anshar wish to visit the palace library, he would be gifted with a carriage and a pair of servants to carry his books for him. He was gifted with the finest clothes, and taught by Lir Lansoar, second only to the Royal Tutor in knowledge and wisdom.
When he turned 15, Anshars father, Davis, decided that, when Anshar had finished his lessons on nobility, he would go to train with the Warders in Tar Valon. In order to prepare him for the training, Davis began teaching Anshar the noble sports of archery and fencing. After having a composite bow created to Anshar?s stature and teaching him the basics of how to use it, Davis attempted to teach his son to use a rapier. Anshar couldn?t get the hang of simply thrusting however. He wanted a sword that could slash as well as stab. Thus he had a katana created for him, with the family coat of arms, a crown pierced by a sword, inlaid in gold at the hilt.
He set of for Tar Valon on his seventeenth nameday, astride his best stallion, Striker. He was accompanied his manservant Deann, as well as two bodyguards, Lewin and Basel. He took with him his composite longbow as well as his new katana. Arriving in Tar Valon several days later, he was struck by the beauty of the city as he rode through, and when he arrived at the Warders training yard, he passed a letter of recommendation from his father to the guard on duty, and was told to visit someone called Matalina, Mistress of Trainees.
