Born the only son of a member of the Queen's Guard, he always wanted to be a warrior. His father began to train him with the sword when he turned 13, but he wasn't a very good teacher. It ended up being more of a bonding experience than true training, but he still picked up a few things. He had always been a quick learner. From an early age, he had seemed older than he really was, and this was only amplified as he got older and became taller than most of the people around him. Throughout his life he read everything he could get his hands on that had to do with wars of the past and other combat writings as well as adventure novels. He had always planned on joining the Queen's Guard like his father, but at about 14 his interests turned toward becoming one of the legendary Warders that appeared in so many stories. His father was slightly disappointed that his son wouldn't be following in his footsteps but encouraged him none the less. He is lanky, and is often thought to be weaker than he really is because he is so slim. He is usually pretty calm and very friendly and gets along well with almost everyone though he has always been something of a loner. It is hard to make him angry, but when he looses his temper, you had better not get in his way. Raised to be a gentleman, he will do just about anything to avoid hitting a lady (which is something he has never done in his life) and even when he looses his temper, the women around him don't have to worry about him turning on them. He has always been a sucker for a pretty face. Loyal almost to a fault, if someone gains his trust he will do anything for that person. He always has been and always will be stubborn as a mule. He will listen to sense but when he is convinced he is right, you WON'T change his mind. Though in fairly good physical condition, he still needs to work on his endurance. The day after his 16 birthday, his father set off with him to escort him to Tar Valon to begin his training. After their goodbyes at the bridge into Tar Valon, he set off into the city with eagerness and stubborness that wouldn't let him back down from whatever the instructors threw his way.
