Leikandt was born in a small village in the north of Andor. Typically, he did not know much about the rest of the world and like any other little boy, he desired to see all of it. Well perhaps not every little boy. His brother, his only sibling, did not have such desires. Leikandt scoffed at his brother, Daharal, for not wanting excitement. They learned some woodcraft and archery with their father, and Leikandt pretended he was shooting bandits and robbers. Daharal on the other hand, just played with rabbits and other little animals. He didn't like having to kill them. Leikandt thought his brother weak and therefore himself strong and that one day he would go out and see the world. The time came when his brother killed the family dog, when Leikandt was 14, and left the village, his eyes golden. His parents had turned fearful that the same would happen to Leikandt, so he packed a bag and set off for the big city, maybe even see the Queen. Now Leikandt had always been a curious sort and having some small literary skills, had made his way throiugh every book in that little village. And those stories had set a fire under him. Arriving in the big city, he slept in a few haylofts before getting kicked out and eventually found his way to the Queen's guard. Normally the Queens guard wouldn't take someone so young, but an old Guardsman took pity on the boy and took him under his wing, giving him some food and even teaching him the basics of the sword. Leikandy spent several years there before learning of the worlds greatest city and the worlds biggest library. Paying no heed to the old Guardsmans warnings, he took off towards Tar Valon where eventually he joined the Tower Guard when he wasn't allowed to see the Library. This, he thought, would be adventure.
